STEM & EDUCATION

My passion for karting naturally connects with my strong interest in motorsport engineering and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Through school programmes and extracurricular activities, I actively pursue opportunities that combine racing with engineering knowledge, helping me develop both as a driver and a future engineer.

Williams Racing Experience Centre

I was selected by my school to take part in a STEM visit to the Williams Racing Experience Centre. This was an incredible opportunity to see how STEM is applied in real-world motorsport engineering and to learn more about the operations of a Formula One team.

During the visit, we took part in a group engineering challenge focused on testing a crumple zone on a Formula One front wing. My team presented our findings and won the presentation challenge.

I also won an F1 simulation competition, racing on iconic circuits and demonstrating my racing skills and passion for motorsport.

This experience strengthened my ambition to pursue a career as a Formula One Engineer, combining my love of racing with engineering innovation.

Greenpower Education Trust – Greenpower Challenge

As part of an after-school STEM club, I participate in Greenpower Racing in the Formula 24 category. This programme allows teams of students to design, build and race a single-seater electric car.

Our team competes at major UK circuits including Lotus, Ford test tracks and Goodwood.

My karting experience helps the team in several ways:

  • Assisting with problem-solving during car assembly

  • Helping improve car setup and driver performance

  • Coaching other drivers on racing lines and track awareness

This experience develops both my engineering and teamwork skills while strengthening my understanding of motorsport technology.

EAQ Programme (Enquire, Aspire, Question)

I was selected to participate in the EAQ Programme, which stands for Enquire, Aspire, Question. This programme supports a group of high-achieving students within my school, challenging us to reach our highest potential.

Alongside  leadership skills, the programme focuses on key STEM subjects including:

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Design & Technology

  • English

Through this programme, I am working towards developing leadership skills and academic excellence, helping prepare me for future opportunities in motorsport engineering and beyond.
